When you visit Canada be sure to visit Quebec City. This walled city has history, beauty and wild nature there is never a lack of things to do. Everything from wild waterfalls to a Joan of Arc memorial, there is something for everyone in your group.
Spending time outdoors is a great thing to do. From walking around the city, to walking around one of the parks for those who just want to relax and be in nature. For the more adventurous, go kayaking on the lake or cross country skiing at Camp Mercier.
One of the focal points in Quebec is the history. Between visiting historical places and the awesome natural areas, be sure to bring your camera. You will want to remember the views! Take Le Train du massif de Charlevoix, a scenic train ride taking you throughout the countryside, showing you things you would have missed on your own. The train boasts wonderful food, from the Charlevoix region.
For a look into Quebec’s military history visit the Martello towers. A three story structure that was used as a fortress, there are even slits in the wall where the military could shoot from.
For those of you looking for a culinary vacation from your normal cuisine, definitely give some French food a try. Excellent wine, cheese and pastries abound. For the adults, visit a few of the pubs and clubs. Get a feel of how the French party. Enjoy local wine and local fun. To eat your belly bigger, visit one of the many chocolate or pastry shops. Everything from fresh croissants to fresh chocolate your mouth will water the whole way. For meals, enjoy traditional Quebec meals, hearty and filling your mouth will water.
